Kofi's full report

Soft Armour, Long Memory

Kofi, you were born on a New Moon with the Sun and Moon both in Cancer, which means there is no gap in you between what you feel and who you are — no mirror, no translator, no second opinion. That makes you formidable at reading a room and terrible at reading yourself. Water floods your chart at nearly twice the weight of anything else, but it is cardinal water: not a pond, a tide, something that moves whole coastlines by arriving quietly and repeatedly. Sun trine Neptune at a tenth of a degree gives you an almost unfair sensitivity to atmosphere — you know when someone in the house is unhappy before they do — while Mars in Taurus squaring Uranus in Leo means you absorb, absorb, absorb, and then one day, without warning to anyone but yourself, you end something for good. You have spent sixty-four years being described as the steady one by people who have no idea how much you have privately walked away from. The work of your life is not learning to feel more; it is learning to say the thing while it is still small.

The Man Who Holds the Weather

Your temperament is protective before it is anything else. With Sun and Moon conjunct in Cancer you don't have a public self and a private self so much as an inner circle and an outer perimeter, and the perimeter is patrolled. People who have known you thirty years still describe you as easy to like and hard to know, and you find this baffling, because from the inside you feel entirely transparent. You are not. You give warmth generously and information sparingly, and you have made a lifetime habit of asking the questions so that nobody gets around to asking you any. Moon sextile Mars in Taurus gives the softness a spine: you are slow to move but nearly impossible to shift once you have, and you can outlast almost anyone in a disagreement simply by declining to be moved.

Your mind runs faster than your body wants to. Mercury in Gemini in a chart otherwise made of water and fixed earth is the restless passenger — the part of you that reads three things at once, remembers names and phone numbers from 1987, tells a story well, and gets bored of a subject two weeks before you have finished with it. Mercury square Jupiter means you round up: you promise the bigger version, quote the more generous figure, agree to the thing on Tuesday that Thursday-you resents. It also makes you genuinely funny, because you see the joke's shape before the sentence ends. The sextile from Mercury to Venus in Leo is why you can defuse a hostile room with one well-chosen line, and why you have occasionally used charm where honesty would have been quicker and cheaper.

You love the way you do everything else: totally, slowly, and with an exit route you never mention. Venus in Leo wants to be chosen out loud — praised, claimed, made a bit of a fuss of — while Mars in Taurus, squaring that Venus, wants comfort, routine and no scenes. The result is a man who craves grand gestures and marries the person who makes good coffee. When you fight, you do not shout at first; you go quiet, you go polite, you go somewhere else in your head, and the other person feels the temperature drop by ten degrees without a word being said. That silence is your weapon and you know it. Then Mars square Uranus arrives, months or years late, and you say the one true sentence you have been curating in private — and it lands like a demolition, and you are calm afterwards, which frightens people more than rage would.

What you hide is need. Saturn in Aquarius square Neptune built a private rule in you very early: that faith and dependence are for other people, that you are the one who carries, not the one who is carried. So you hide the medical appointment, the bad month, the fact that you lay awake. You hide how much certain small slights from decades ago still sit in you, fully intact, in the drawer nobody opens. And you hide the size of your imagination — Sun trine Jupiter and Neptune gave you a genuine visionary streak, a sense of how things could be, that you have spent years dressing down as practicality because you were once laughed at for saying it plainly. The people who love you are not asking you to be less capable. They are asking you to let them see you tired.

Strengths

  • ◆You read atmosphere with near-forensic accuracy and act on it before anyone else has noticed there is a problem.
  • ◆Mars in Taurus makes you the person who is still there in month eleven, when the enthusiasts have all gone home.
  • ◆You can make anyone feel like the only person in the room, and you mean it every time.
  • ◆Your memory for detail — names, debts, kindnesses, exact wordings — makes you both a great ally and a poor person to lie to.
  • ◆You have an unforced instinct for what a thing could become, and enough Cancerian patience to feed it for years before it pays.

Shadows

  • ◇You store grievances at full resolution instead of raising them at half size, then act on the whole archive at once.
  • ◇You confuse being needed with being loved, and you have accepted jobs and relationships on that confusion.
  • ◇Your withdrawal is punitive — you know exactly how much the cold shoulder costs the other person, which is why you use it.
  • ◇Mercury square Jupiter has you overpromising in the warmth of the moment and then resenting the person who held you to it.
  • ◇You call your self-protection realism, but a good deal of it is simply fear of being the one who wanted more.

The Fortress and the Invitation

You attach slowly and then permanently. With the Moon ruling your chart from late Cancer, love for you is not primarily romantic — it is territorial and domestic. You fall for people you can feed, house, defend and build a routine with, and the erotic charge for you is in familiarity rather than novelty; the same person, in the same kitchen, for the twentieth year, is not a compromise to you, it is the point. What complicates this is Venus in Leo, which needs to be visibly adored and will not say so. You have gone years being loyally, quietly loved by someone while feeling faintly unseen, and you never once said 'tell me I'm remarkable' because asking would have ruined it.

You attract two types, repeatedly. The first is the person in some kind of trouble — emotional, financial, chaotic — who blooms in your care and then, having bloomed, needs less of you than you need to give. The second is the withholding one, cooler than you, whose approval you have to work for, which lights up the Venus-in-Leo hunger for a prize. Both patterns end the same way: you over-function, you keep score in private, you say nothing for a very long time, and then Mars square Uranus finishes it in a single afternoon and everyone calls you cold. You are not cold. You are late.

The other repeating thread is your talent for making yourself indispensable rather than known. You do the practical love — the lifts, the paperwork, the meal, the standing between someone and their bad news — and then feel a low hum of grievance that nobody asked what you were carrying. But you built the wall specifically so they couldn't get in, and then you resented them for not climbing it. Sun trine Neptune also means you idealise: you can hold on to a version of a person that stopped being accurate years ago, out of loyalty to who they were when you first decided.

What actually works for you is unglamorous. It is saying the small irritation on day one instead of day four hundred. It is asking directly for the thing you want to be told, in plain words, without making it a test. It is letting someone do something for you that you could easily do yourself, and not immediately repaying it. Partners who last with you are the ones who insist gently and repeatedly on entry — who ask the second question after you deflect the first — and who are not frightened by your silences. Choose those people. Stop choosing projects.

Say the small thing on the day it happens; the archive is what makes you cruel, not the feeling. Once this month, ask for something you have never asked for out loud and let it be slightly embarrassing. Being known is not weaker than being useful.

Custodian, Not Employee

You are built to hold things: institutions, families, businesses, histories, other people's projects that would collapse without your steadiness. Mars in Taurus gives you an unusual tolerance for the long unglamorous middle of any undertaking, the part where results are invisible and everyone else loses faith. Mercury in Gemini means you can also sell it, explain it, and make it human, which is a rarer combination than you assume — most patient people are dull, and most persuasive people are flighty. Sun trine Jupiter and Neptune adds the thing that has always been slightly wasted in your working life: an accurate feel for what a thing could grow into. You have been right about the future more often than you have been credited for, usually because you said it too tentatively to a room that wanted certainty.

You sabotage it in two ways. First, Saturn in Aquarius retrograde has kept you semi-detached from every institution you've served — loyal in your work, privately unconvinced, never fully claiming your place in the hierarchy — so you have watched less able people be promoted past you and told yourself you didn't want it. You did want it. Second, Mars square Uranus means the resentment does not leak, it detonates: you have walked out, resigned, or burned a relationship with an employer or partner suddenly, cleanly, and later than was good for you. Each of those exits was justified. Each of them also cost you five years of accumulated ground you then had to rebuild from scratch, and you have rebuilt at least twice.

You lead by care and by presence rather than by authority. People do things for you because they don't want to let you down, which is more effective than command and much more exhausting to sustain. But you refuse the title. You would rather be the one everybody consults than the one everybody blames, and at sixty-four that habit has become a policy. The next stage of your working life — and there is a next stage, whatever you have told people about winding down — is about legacy rather than labour: teaching, mentoring, transferring what you know, putting your name on something. Saturn crossing your Sun through this winter is going to make the untitled position untenable. Take the title.

Write down the thing you have been right about for years and say it once, plainly, to someone with power. Stop volunteering for work whose only reward is being needed. If you are handing something over in the next two years, hand it over deliberately rather than by walking away.

Enough, and the Fear of Enough

Your relationship with money is Mars in Taurus: you accumulate, you hold, you hate selling, and you have property, savings or objects you have kept far past their usefulness because letting go feels like exposure. You are not extravagant on yourself. You are extravagant on other people — Jupiter trine your Sun makes you round the loan up, pick up the bill, and quietly not chase money owed to you by family, of which there is more than you have ever admitted. Jupiter opposite Pluto in your chart is the see-saw: genuine generosity on one side, a private scarcity terror on the other, and you can occupy both in the same week. Some months you know your balance to the penny; other months you deliberately don't look.

Risk, for you, is not gambling — it is investing in something unproven that you personally believe in, usually a person. Saturn square Neptune means the number and the dream have never quite reconciled: you either over-plan and miss the opportunity, or you fund the vision without doing the arithmetic and pretend afterwards that you knew the odds. The correction is boring and it works: put a figure on it before you commit, and say the figure out loud to one other adult. You have enough. What you don't have is the felt sense of enough, and no additional sum will produce it — only the act of giving something away on purpose, from strength, with the amount decided in advance.

Name a number you are willing to lose before you lend or invest anything, and treat it as spent the moment it leaves. Check the balance on a fixed day each month whether the news is good or not.

The Year the Rules Get Rewritten

This is a load-bearing year, Kofi, and it splits cleanly in two. From now until March, Saturn in Aries sits in a long square to your Cancer Sun — the classic mid-sixties audit, where the body, the workload and the arrangement you have quietly tolerated for years all send their invoices at once. Running alongside it, and this is the mercy, Jupiter crosses your Venus in Leo twice, in late September and again in March, opening a genuine warm channel through the middle of the pressure: recognition, an old pleasure returning, someone's affection made unmistakable. Then in spring 2027 the big one arrives — Pluto conjunct your natal Saturn from late February to July, exact on 19 April — which dismantles a structure of authority you have carried since you were a boy, whether that is a role, a duty, a house, or simply the rule that you cope alone. The year ends with Saturn squaring your Moon through the summer, testing home and family directly, and closes on 4–6 September with Uranus trine your Saturn and Jupiter touching your Sun: release, and a door. Expect to end this year lighter, older, and considerably more honest.

  1. September 2026

You open the year on a rising note that you will not trust at first. Mars crosses your Moon on 23 September, which is the closest thing your chart has to a starting gun — protective energy, temper close to the surface, and an unusual willingness to say the thing directly for about a week. Use that window; it is short. Meanwhile Jupiter comes to your Venus, exact on 27 September, and something you had written off as finished returns: an invitation, an old friendship, a piece of praise from a quarter you stopped expecting it from. The Full Moon in Aries on the 26th makes someone else's impatience your problem. Don't manage it. Let them be annoyed and go do the thing that arrived on the 27th.

  2. October – November 2026

The weight lands. Saturn squares your Sun exactly on 9 October and stays in range until March, which in practical terms means your energy is finite in a way it has not previously been and your body will make the point if you argue. Simultaneously Venus turns retrograde on 3 October and Mercury on 24 October, so the whole of late October and early November is a review, not a launch: old contacts resurface, an old feeling resurfaces, and a financial or romantic arrangement made years ago comes up for renegotiation. Mars opposes your Saturn on 15–16 October — one flat refusal is required of you, probably to someone who has always got a yes. Then Jupiter squares your Mars from 19 October right through to February, exact 16 November: the temptation to over-commit at exactly the moment you have least in the tank. Say no in October so you can say yes in March.

  3. December 2026 – January 2027

The traffic clears. Saturn turns direct on 12 December and Neptune on the 14th, and the fog that has been over a decision since autumn lifts inside a fortnight. The Full Moon in Cancer on 24 December falls in your own sign, on your own birthright of family and house, and it will be emotionally loud — a Christmas where somebody says the quiet thing at the table. Let them. Through January, Mars sextiles your Sun across a long window from 24 December to 27 January, exact on the 11th: this is your best physical and executive stretch of the whole winter, the period to have the difficult conversation, start the treatment, sign the thing, book the flight. Mars also turns retrograde on 11 January, so start it in the first half of the month rather than the second.

  4. February – March 2027

Two things happen at once and they do not feel related, but they are. Jupiter returns to your Venus, exact 8 March and active from 6 February to mid-June — the second and richer pass, bringing money, affection or public credit that the autumn version only sketched. And from 26 February, Pluto begins its conjunction to your natal Saturn: the slow removal of a structure you have carried as identity. This is where a role ends, an obligation is finally set down, a house or a title or a family position changes hands. Mercury retrogrades 10 February to 4 March, so nothing you sign in that window will be the final version. Saturn's long square to your Sun makes its last exact contact around 12 March and then releases. By the end of March you will feel five years younger than you did in November.

  5. April – June 2027

The strongest constructive stretch of your year. Pluto conjunct your Saturn is exact on 19 April, and around it Saturn trines your Venus on the 17th and sextiles your Mercury on the 21st — a rare combination where something is taken away and something durable is simultaneously granted. Concretely: a commitment gets formalised, a piece of work gets its proper status, a relationship is put on a firmer legal or practical footing. This is the year's best window for contracts, property, and saying out loud what you intend to do with the rest of your life. Mars squares your Mars on 3 May — a physical flashpoint, likely your back, knee or temper, so do not lift the thing yourself. Jupiter keeps touching your Venus and Mercury until mid-June: teach, write, speak, be seen.

  6. July – September 2027

Home is the theatre for the last stretch. Saturn squares your Moon from 2 June to 6 September, exact on 22 July, which is the hardest emotional passage of the twelve months: a family member needs more than you have, or a house becomes a burden, or the loneliness you have been outrunning since October simply sits down opposite you. Jupiter squares your Mars again in early July — don't take on the extra commitment — and Mars squares your Sun on 3 August, a genuinely low-fuel week to keep clear of confrontation. But the year does not end on that note. Uranus trines your Saturn through the summer, exact 4 September, breaking a rule you have obeyed for forty years, and Jupiter reaches your Sun on 6 September. Whatever you set down in April, this is where the space it left starts to fill with something you actually chose.

October 2026: Pressure and Warmth in the Same Month

October gives you the good news and the bill in the same envelope. Jupiter is sitting on your Venus in Leo all month — praise, affection, an offer, a reunion, a distinctly nicer month socially than September was — while Saturn squares your Cancer Sun on the 9th and stays heavy the whole month, so your stamina, your patience and possibly your health are running on a tighter budget than usual. Then Venus goes retrograde on the 3rd and Mercury on the 24th, which turns the second half of October into an unavoidable review of the past: expect a name you have not heard in years, a conversation you thought was closed, and at least one moment of genuine temptation to go backwards. The instruction for the month is simple. Accept everything that is being offered to you emotionally; sign nothing; and let the two people who want you to solve their problem solve it themselves this once.

2026-10-01

Jupiter meets your Venus and touches your Mercury on the same day — a warm, articulate, opportunity-shaped start to the month. Make the call you have been drafting; the person will say yes.

2026-10-03

Venus turns retrograde, and for six weeks the past has your address. Do not initiate a reconciliation today out of nostalgia; if it is real, it will still be real in mid-November.

2026-10-09

Saturn squares your Sun exactly: the day the tiredness is not negotiable and someone in authority is unhelpful. Cancel something rather than push through, and book the appointment you have been postponing.

2026-10-10

New Moon in Libra — the cleanest fresh start of the month, and it belongs to a relationship or a partnership rather than a project. Say the thing you want out loud, in plain words, to one person.

2026-10-16

Mars opposes your natal Saturn while Pluto turns direct: a confrontation with a rule, an institution or an older man, and a stubborn situation finally starts moving. Refuse once, calmly, without the explanation.

2026-10-24

Mercury turns retrograde as the Sun enters Scorpio. Everything gets quieter and deeper for a fortnight; postpone the contract, and expect a message from someone you last spoke to years ago.

2026-10-26

Full Moon in Taurus, the sign of your Mars — a body-and-money culmination, and the moment you find out how much you have actually been carrying. Something physical needs attention; don't lift it alone.

2026-10-31

Mars crosses your Venus while Jupiter squares your Mars: desire, appetite and overconfidence all arriving at once. Excellent night for company, terrible day for committing money or promising your time into next year.

Learning to Be Received

You came in on a New Moon, with the Sun and Moon fused in Cancer, which means you began with no distance between your instinct and your identity — a beginner's chart, a chart of pure momentum, given to a soul asked to build from scratch. The gift is that you have never needed permission to know what you feel. The cost is that you have very little capacity to see yourself from outside, and so you have relied for sixty-four years on other people's reactions to tell you who you are — which is a strange dependency in a man this self-contained. What you are here to learn is not strength. You arrived with strength. You are here to learn reception: to be looked after, contradicted, argued with, and cared for without immediately balancing the books.

The lesson repeats in one particular shape. You take responsibility for something or someone; you do it well; you do it beyond what was asked; you tell no one what it costs; and then one day the accumulated silence turns into a sudden, final act — the resignation, the estrangement, the door closed with unnerving calm. Mars in Taurus square Uranus in Leo has run this cycle in your work, your family and at least one friendship you have never fully explained to anyone. Every one of those exits was earned. None of them was necessary, if you had spoken at the halfway point. The recurring lesson of your life is timing, not truth: you have almost always been right, and almost always late.

Mastery, for you, looks like a man who says the difficult thing while it is still a small thing, and who lets people see him need. It looks like taking the title instead of being the power behind it, naming the number instead of hoping it works out, and asking to be told he is loved rather than proving it should be obvious. With Pluto crossing your natal Saturn this coming spring, you are going to be relieved of a duty that has partly been standing in for a personality — and the temptation will be to pick up another one within the week. Don't. Sit in the empty space long enough to find out what you want when nobody needs you. That question, at sixty-five, is the only one left worth answering.
